Shutter Drive Infrared Safety Beam Sensor — Single Beam Transmitter & Receiver Pair
A single-beam infrared sensor pair — one transmitter, one receiver — that throws an invisible beam across an opening up to 15 metres wide. Break the beam and the built-in relay switches. It is the standard, inexpensive way to stop a powered door closing on a vehicle, a person or a pallet.
What you can use it for
- Roller shutter and roll-up doors — wire the relay into your controller's safety or stop input so the door halts or reverses when something is in the opening.
- Sliding and swing gates — the same job, across the driveway.
- Automatic door triggering — use the normally-open contact to call a door open as someone approaches.
- Perimeter and driveway beams — feed the normally-closed contact into an alarm zone to cover a gateway, passage or yard.
How it works
The transmitter sends a modulated 940 nm infrared beam at 1.92 kHz to the receiver mounted opposite it. Modulating the beam is what stops sunlight, headlights and other light sources from setting it off. While the receiver can see the beam the relay holds; the moment something interrupts it, the relay switches.
N.C. or N.O. — your choice
The relay output is selectable, so one pair suits either kind of controller: normally closed for a panel that watches a closed circuit and reacts when it opens, or normally open for one that wants a contact to close. Set it to whatever your door controller or alarm panel calls for.

Which safety sensor do I need?
• This one — infrared through-beam pair, up to 15 m. R199. A transmitter one side and a receiver the other, so it needs power or a cable run to both sides — but it covers a much wider opening.
• Retro-reflective sensor with reflector, up to 4 m. R299. One sensor and a reflector, everything on one side of the opening, so there is no cable run across the door. Quicker to fit on a narrower opening.

Installation
Mount the transmitter and receiver facing each other on either side of the opening, at the same height and in line with one another. Both run on 12–24 V, AC or DC, so most door controllers and alarm panels can feed them directly without a separate supply.
IP55 means dust-protected and able to take low-pressure water spray from any direction — fine for a normal doorway or a sheltered gate post. It is not rated for submersion or for being pressure-washed.
Have it wired in by a qualified installer. A beam connected to the wrong input protects nothing, and work on a door controller is not a DIY job.
What's in the box
