Shutter Drive Retro-Reflective Safety Sensor — Roller Shutter Doors, with Reflector

The retro-reflective photoelectric sensor switch is an industrial optical sensor designed to detect objects by bouncing an infrared or visible light beam off a matching reflector plate. Fitted to a roller shutter door, it stops or reverses the door when the beam is broken.

The reflector is included, so one unit and one reflector is the whole installation — there is nothing to buy separately and nothing to wire on the far side of the door.

Key Technical Specifications

• Operating voltage: 12 to 24V DC, or wide-range 24–240V AC/DC depending on the sub-model variant
• Sensing range: typically up to 4 metres when used with the supplied reflector
• Output configuration: Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) dry contact internal relay output
• Switching capacity: built-in mechanical relay rated up to 3A at 250V AC

Control and Indicators

• Sensitivity dial (SENS): integrated adjustment potentiometer used to increase or decrease the optical detection distance threshold
• LED status indicator: on-board light that illuminates to give a visual cue when an object enters the detection beam or breaks the alignment

Wire Colour Functions (Standard Pinout)

The sensor uses a 5-wire layout split into dedicated power supply lines and dry relay contacts.

Power lines:
• Red (RE) / Brown: V+ power input
• Black (BK) / Blue: V− power input / neutral

Which safety sensor do I need?

• This one — retro-reflective, up to 4 m. R299. One sensor and a reflector. Everything mounts on one side of the opening, so there is no cable run across the door. Best for narrower openings and the quicker fit.
• Infrared through-beam pair, up to 15 m. R199. A transmitter one side and a receiver the other, so it needs power or a cable run to both sides — but it covers a much wider opening.

Warranty

One year against defects in materials and workmanship, from the invoice date. It must be installed by a qualified installer, and written proof of professional installation is required for a claim. This is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, not instead of them.
